Question by Daniel James: How do I trade between Pokemon Ruby & Emerald?
I would like to trade 1st and 2nd generation Pokemon from Ruby to Emerald, but am unable. I have not completed any gyms yet. From what research I have done it seems I may need a National Pokedex. It would be appreciated if anybody could verify this for me or throw me other suggestions, much thanks.
Note- I have already finished the story in a previous game and want a different play experience.
An action replay code to unlock the National Pokedex would also be helpful.

Yes, you need the National Dex in Pokémon Emerald in order to trade with Pokémon Ruby. You do not need the National Dex in Pokémon Ruby. You will get the National Dex in “Emerald” after defeating the Elite 4.
